Ballade Of Olde Secaucus
By Jim Signorile, Keith Thomson and Bud Thompson (1969)
(Chorus, repeat after every verse)
Take the bus to Secaucus.
Ride the scum to the slum.
Take the bus to Secaucus.
It's time to have some fun.
Wash your clothes on a Monday,
Hang them out on the line;
Let them dry in the warm Secaucus sun,
And watch them cover up with slime.
Slide right into Secaucus.
See the black cloud hanging there.
See it smother all the buildings.
Surprise! That black cloud is their air.
Floating pigs line the rooftops.
Floating pigs fill the air.
Floating pigs hang on phone lines.
Floating pigs everywhere.
See the Secaucus commuters.
See them grovel in the dirt.
See them slosh across the sidewalks
As they plow their way to work.
We don't mean to put down Secaucus.
All those things I guess it's not.
You could learn to like Secaucus.
How much time have you got?
